• Eliminate the requirement for minimum hours of work and experience
• Increase the number of priority areas.
• Applicants need to have skills in the Skill Level 1 or Level 2 occupation. Candidates applying for a nomination for the 491 visa are in the Skill Level 3 occupation category.

2. Victorian Priority Sectors

• Health field

Candidates do not have to be a doctor or a nurse, but only need to work in the medical field (e.g. a software engineer developing software for a hospital will also be counted).

• Medical research
• Life science

Life sciences cover a wide range of fields such as medical technology, biotechnology and pharmacy. Companies in the field of food processing, pharmaceutical cosmetics, functional foods.

• Digitizing

• Artificial intelligence
• Network security
• Video games
• Educational technology
• Energy Technology
• Financial technology
• Food – agriculture
• Defense & Space
• Clean energy, renewable energy, bioenergy and related energy fields
