You can understand in the simplest way, the US immigrant visa is a type of visa issued by the US Government. This is a valid permit issued to foreigners to enter and live in the United States.
About 2 weeks after you enter the US, the US Immigration Service will issue you a US green card (also known as a US Permanent Resident Card).
There are two types of green cards: permanent green cards (also known as 10-year green cards) and conditional green cards. Along with that, according to the provisions of US law, US visas will be classified into different types of US immigrant visas, with different durations and granting subjects.

For those who have been granted a US green card, they will receive many benefits such as:

- Allowed to exit and enter the United States freely
- The person may be entitled to the same legal rights as a citizen of the United States

In order for you to understand and know about the US immigrant visa issue , there are 2 types below for reference:
- Type 1: US immigrant visa under EB-5 (EB-5 is the US green card program, for Americans with other nationalities to invest): Time to accept EV-5 applications, and issue green cards under this category is not more than 2 years. After 5 years, people who come to the US under this program will be considered for naturalization in the US.
- Type 2: Immigrant visa under the category of relatives (parents, spouses, children, siblings) with US citizenship or permanent residence in the US. If you go to the US under this category, you will be granted a permanent US green card. And for 10 years.
- Type 3: Visa to immigrate to the US according to the work category. Foreign citizens can become permanent residents of the United States through a work-based immigrant visa. The work-based immigrant visa is for foreign workers who want to immigrate to the United States to live. The employment-based immigrant visa allows applicants the opportunity to apply for lawful permanent residence in the United States. After 5 years of becoming a permanent resident, you can apply for US citizenship. Candidates applying for a US immigrant visa to work need to ensure the job requirements as well as have the certification of the company where you work. This visa is for skilled workers, unskilled workers... Depending on the different work visa categories, the visa duration is also different.
