1. PTE English certificate will be accepted in immigration application

An information from IRCC said that Canada will accept the results of the PTE English Certificate in the immigration application. This is an international certificate that is recognized in many countries such as IELTS or TOEFL, the purpose is to certify for things like studying abroad, employment, immigration, etc. 

Thus, skilled workers or investors, business owners with enough experience but not good English ability can also take this test to supplement their profile instead of IELTS or CLB certificates as the previous condition.

2. What foreign language certificates does Canada accept?

Currently, Canadian immigration candidates will have the choice of four language tests, including three English tests (CELPIP and IELTS General Training) and two French tests (TEF and TCF).

By the end of 2023, when there is official information from IRCC, PTE will be the fifth certificate added to the immigration dossier for foreigners. 

IRCC also adds the following approved Language Testing organizations and agencies:

• The following organizations administer the International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Cambridge English Language Assessment; International Development Program (IDP) Australia; British Council

• Organization that administers the Pearson Essential Test of English (PTE) (expected to be accepted by IRCC by the end of 2023): Pearson Canada Company

• French language testing organization: The Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry administers the French Language Assessment Test for Canada (TEF Canada); France Éducation International administers the Test of Knowledge of French for Canada (TCF Canada).

3. PTE English certificate will make it easier for Canadians to immigrate

Although PTE is an international English certificate valid after IELTS or TOEFL, the test format is relatively easy for those who do not have good English speaking and writing skills. In addition, the PTE English certificate is graded entirely by AI technology, so it gives more accurate and faster results, which can speed up the immigration application process. 

With this certificate, it will also help applicants save money because the PTE exam fee is cheaper than IELTS or TOEFL. 

It can be said that the acceptance of the PTE English certificate is a "sign" of the Canadian government's easier approval of immigration applications, creating favorable conditions for immigrants. This also helps Canada to supplement its workforce and develop the country in the coming time.
