1. New South Wales

Of the Australian states, New South Wales has the largest distribution with over 12,000 nominated positions. The occupation list is still under development and will be published on the NSW migration website.

2. Victoria

Victoria has the second highest number of state-nominated visas with a quota of 11,570 slots for 2022/23. Accordingly, the number of visas for subclass 190 accounts for the highest (9,000 seats), 2,400 slots for regional visas and 170 business visas. 

Victory Australia has expanded its list of eligible occupations to include more than 420 jobs on the Commonwealth's skilled list. This allows applicants living abroad, as well as those already living in Victoria, to apply for a visa.

3. Western Australia

Western Australia currently has the third largest allocation of state-designated spots after NSW and Victoria, with 5350 190 visas and 2790 regional visas available. More than 100 additional jobs have been added to the skilled occupations list bringing the total to 276.

The government will also introduce other temporary measures, including waiving the $200 application fee, reducing the length of an employment contract from 12 months to 6 months, and reducing the requirement for applicants to prove financially qualified. At the same time, the additional English language requirements for professional and management positions will also be removed and some conditions will be omitted from work experience. 

4. Queensland

There will be 3,000 subclass 190 visas, as well as 1,200 regional and 235 business visas in the province of Queensland. 

The list of eligible occupations in Australia Queensland has been expanded to include 114 occupations by 2022/23. Foreign applicants will also be able to apply for the first time since the COVID-19 outbreak.

5. South Australia

South Australia has opened applications for its grant program, with more than 500 qualifying occupations. The Australian state will also select foreign applicants who have submitted an expression of interest on the SkillSelect database.

South Australia has been allocated 2,700 190 visas, as well as 3,180 regional and 70 business visas.

6. Northern Territory

The Northern Territory is one of the few Australian state jurisdictions that do not accept applications from people living overseas. Candidates are required to live and work here for at least 3 years.

The applicant's occupation must be included as one of the more than 420 jobs on the Commonwealth's skilled list, but Northern Australia also indicates a lesser occupation list of more than 200 in-demand jobs in the UK. territory.

7. Australian Capital Territory (ACT)

The ACT career criteria are broad and include more than 420 jobs on the Commonwealth skilled list. There are 800 subclass 190 visas, 1,920 other regional visas and 10 business visas available.

8. Tasmania

The Tasmanian program is expected to open immediately to applications of interest from those currently working in any skilled role related to the state's skills assessment. Preference will be given to those working in a key role and then those on Tasmania's list of more than 250 skilled occupations (up from more than 120 last year) who have also Work in this state for at least two years.

The Australian state government Tasmania says all occupations on the Commonwealth's broader skills list will be eligible to be considered for the large number of remaining tentative positions.
