Immigrating to the US is not only a dream of many Vietnamese people but also of many other people around the world. The US is always open to immigrant citizens, so the settlement is also very good. US citizens can sponsor their siblings and children from Vietnam to the US, this category is classified as priority 4, so it is often called F4. So how long do you guarantee to immigrate to the US ?
According to US immigration law, the sponsored person will receive a green card for 10 years and enjoy US permanent resident status. When living in the US for 4 years and 9 months, the sponsored person is eligible to apply for a citizenship test and become a US citizen.
According to USCIS annual statistics, the total number of F4 petitions sent to the USCIS always exceeds the number of visas available, resulting in very long processing times. This is also the category with the longest waiting time among family visa categories.
The duration of the F4 visa is at least 14 years, the applicant must monitor the monthly visa schedule to know if the application is processed or not. As mentioned, the time to sponsor siblings to the US is very long. Therefore, candidates must prepare a complete application from the beginning. Note that the procedure for each change and addition of documents will take an average time of about 6 months.
