Today, the Canadian government has just made an official announcement about the comprehensive reopening. According to Ottawa time from 12:00 am on August 9th, 2021 Canada will first open its doors to citizens of neighboring US countries.
This new announcement has two important pieces of good news:
1. Starting from August 9th, 2021, citizens and permanent residents in the US who have been fully vaccinated will be allowed to enter Canada without having to be isolated for 2 weeks.
2. The Government of Canada also announced that Vaccinated Travelers from around the world will also be allowed to visit Canada starting September 7th, 2021.
The notice also concerns children upon entry as follows: As of August 9, children under 12 years old - who have not been vaccinated yet - will be exempt from the requirement of quarantine after entering Canada and can travel with their parents if they follow the prescribed public health measures. Children need to avoid public areas such as schools, kindergartens, playgrounds to limit the risk in the worst case.
This is also an important move in the humanitarian spirit of the Canadian government.
