1. Answers to questions about AIPP Canada Skills

The Federal AIPP Skilled Immigrant Program is piloted by Immigration Canada; Launched to attract foreign workers to 4 provinces on the east coast of Canada. Includes Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island (Prince Island, abbreviated PEI), Newfoundland & Labrador.

Candidates participating in the program are given the opportunity to settle in Canada with special incentives from the Government:

- 1 year working experience

– English required only IELTS General 4.5

– Job offer letter from Employer on the approved list

– Apply for Permanent Residence for the whole family

– Time to process all applications within 18-24 months

2. Does the AIPP have a deadline?

AIPP was piloted by the Government of Canada from March 2017 to March 2020. Recognizing the positive impact of the program on the human resources of the East Coast, the Government of Canada extended the program to December 2021 and at the beginning of this year, the Government decided to convert the AIPP program from definite to  indefinite (permanent). Therefore, the current AIPP program processes applications continuously and has no end time.

3. Can I join only with a high school diploma (high school) in Vietnam?

AIPP Yes, program regulations only require applicants to have a minimum of a high school diploma. 3. I have never been to Canada to work, study or travel. Can I apply under the AIPP program?

It is possible because the AIPP does not require an applicant or family member to have Canadian work or living experience or a Canadian degree.

4. I have many friends and relatives in Toronto, Ontario. Can I move here after I get a permanent resident card under AIPP?

This is a question that iCanfield and lawyers often encounter when consulting clients. The answer is absolutely world. After obtaining a permanent resident card (PR), the applicant and his family are not restricted in terms of residence in Canada. However, in order to facilitate the renewal of the permanent residence card or the citizenship test, the applicant and his/her family should maintain living and working in the place of receiving the Job Offer for a reasonable time (usually about 1-2 years) to prove commitment to work and the province has sponsored the family.

5. Is there an age limit for the Canada AIPP Work Program?

No, the Government of Canada does not have an age limit for this program. Applicants who are over 45 years old and meet the conditions of experience, qualifications, and English can still apply for permanent residence for the whole family under the AIPP.

6. When can I apply for a permanent resident card? Do I need to enter Canada before I can apply for permanent residence?

The AIPP program does not require applicants to have Canadian work experience, so applicants are completely allowed to apply for permanent residence in Vietnam immediately after receiving an Endorsement Letter from the province.

7. Am I required to apply for a Work Permit?

The AIPP does not require applicants to apply for a Work Permit. For example, in case the employer requires the employee to come to work early before there is a PR, the new applicant needs to apply for a Work Permit. Within 90 days from the date of submitting the Work Permit application, the applicant with family must immediately submit the application for a permanent residence card.
